The Diary of a Young Girl, Anne Frank,
Anne Frank, B.M.Mooyart (Translator), Eleanor Roosevelt (Introduction)

Our book for September 22, 2004.

This is one of the wisest and most moving commentaries on war and its impact on human beings that I have ever read.
--Eleanor Roosevelt

It is a poignant, heartbreaking yet somehow heartwarming story, fresh with the dew of adolescence.
--New York Times Herald Tribune

This is one translation of the book.  You do not have to purchase this specific version, however, please do not purchase the abridged version.

Being one of the books English teachers love to assign, sometimes the poignancy of the story gets lost in the shuffle of teenage life.  However, it is a first-hand account of an experience that most of us cannot even attempt to fathom.
--Chris

There have been many movie versions of this book, but I think the image at right captures the charm and innocence Anne had. Check out one of the many versions, this poster comes from the 1959 film.
